Hinder started by being inspired by bands like Aerosmith, Bad Company, Guns-N-Roses, and the Rolling Stones. Far From Close was their first demo and it sold over 5,000 copies at their shows and on the Internet. Their next album Extreme Behavior came out in 2005 and later this album was gold. Their music is supposed to bring the fans back to rock and the eighties.
Austin and Cody met at a college party and started to practice at Cody's. They decided to take the band seriously and see how far it would go. Cody and Austin were joined by Cody's friend Joe. Right before working on Extreme Behavior, they added a guitarist named Mark. They found out about him through mutual friends. They also added Mike who had played in other bands at the same shows as Hinder but he was hard to track down. They finally caught him on the Internet looking at other bands. They asked, he was glad to join.
