Bridge to Terabithia is the story of a boy named Jess who finds true friendship with Leslie, his new neighboor. It is the story of how their friendship changes their lives. When they are together, Jess isn't the weird kid who likes to draw, and Leslie isn't the scrawny girl with no friends and a boyish haircut. When Jess and Leslie are together, they can feel free to be themselves. Leslie has a great imagination and introduces Jess to a magical world in the forest. They are king and queen of this world and decide to name it Terabithia. There they fight off evil creatures and plot their revenge against school bullies. After almost a year together, tragedy strikes, and Jess learns just how valuable friendship is.
